Description

AMCOS LEAK STOPPER

About

AMCOS LEAK STOPPER is an elastomeric water proofing emulsion having very good elasticity and it is designed with a photo initiator technology which cures the film on exposure to sunlight and from a highly durable coating. Application of AMCOS LEAK STOPPER will prevent water leakages through cracks and other defects in the terrace. The white leak stopper applied on terrace will reflect sunlight thus reduces the room temperature. Amcos leak stopper is designed to prevent the algal fungal growth thus remains white for long time

Directions Of use

Mix well AMCOS LEAK STOPPER with water in recommended dilution ratio. Apply first coat vertically and allow to dry for 4-6 hours. After complete drying, apply second coat of LEAK STOPPER horizontally and allow to dry

Surfaces Preperation

Surface preparation is very important and a critical part determining the life of the coating. Surface should be completely cured and properly cleaned by pressure wash. A bio wash is required for avoiding any chances of mold, mildew, algae growth.Surface should be free form dust, moisture, grease or loose particles. Apply AMCOS LEAK STOPPER only to sound and well prepared roof surface. If not, necessary civil work is required. Cracks should be properly sealed (Hairline cracks using AMCOS MASTER SEAL, cracks up to 2 mm using AMCOS SEAL AND FILL and cracks above 2 mm should be addressed by civil maintenance work). If the plastered surface required extra bonding, a sealer coat – AMCOS PLASTER SEALER is recommended prior to the application of the product which helps to lock down slight loose sands on roof surface. Ensure that a proper slope is maintained at the terrace to avoid any stagnant water.

Safety

  • Wear masks, gloves, safety goggles and protective clothing while handling and application of paint.
  •  Keep out of reach of children and away from eatables.
  •  Store paints away from direct sunlight, heat open fire and water
  •  Do not pour the leftover paints in drains. Dispose off the paint left overs and containers as per local regulations.
  •  Splashes on skin should be cleaned with a suitable solvent, washed off with soap and water.
  •  ln case of any accidental ingestion or contact with eye, seek immediate medical attention.
  •  Lead content does not exceed 90 ppm.

Points to Note

  •  Mix well before use.
  •  Actual coverage may vary depending upon the method and conditions of application, surface conditions, application skill, surface roughness and porosity etc.
  •  Stability of thinned paint – 24 hours.
  •  Do not apply on damp and uncured walls directly. On mild damp wall and fresh walls it is highly recommended to apply one coat of AMCOS PLASTER SEALER.
  •  Hairline cracks can be filled by AMCOS MASTER SEAL. Cracks up to 2 mm can be filled by AMCOS SEAL AND FILL. Cracks above 2 mm should be addressed by civil work.
  •  Recoat period is quoted for 25°c and 50% relative humidity, these may vary under different conditions.
  •  The paint film required at least one week time for complete curing under normal atmospheric conditions.
  •  It is advisable to check and maintain the diluted paints consistency in certain intervals based on atmospheric conditions to avoid application issues such as poor finish and less coverage due to solvent evaporation
  •  Keep the container tightly closed after opening to prevent drying.
  •  Shelf life: 3 years from date of manufacture in original tightly closed containers away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
